STEM in Transit Open Evening for Primary Students
Our inaugural STEM in Transit Open Evening, packed with hands-one science activities, takes place on Thursday 14 March, 5-7pm.
The evening is for Year 6 girls who are joining us in September, and also Year 5 girls who want to find out more about our academy too. Parents welcome.
The STEM in Transit Open Evening is a key part of the Transition Programme, helping students make the transition from primary to secondary school.

The evening will include hands-on Science laboratories where Year 6 and Year 5 pupils will investigate what Polar Explorers need to eat, prepare microscope slides, examine the effect of acid rain on sea shells and make Newton's Discs with our Year 7 girls.
Pupils and parents can observe dissections of hearts and a pluck (ie the lungs, heart and liver of an animal) led by our Post 16 students, who will make strong positive female role models for aspiring young scientists.
The experiMENTAL Chemistry will explosively demonstrate the freezing conditions of the Antarctic and the environmental link to combustion, highlighting everyday science.
Conducted by Heads of Subject, the Year 7 Science Snapshot lessons will put parents in their children’s shoes as they return to the classroom - dont forget your pencil case!
