Student Welfare
The Academy has a range of policies and procedures in place that ensure the welfare of all of our students. Several of these policies set out expectations about good behaviour.
This means everyone feels safe and can learn, this includes good learning behaviour around the Academy and in lessons and also rules about how you communicate and behave appropriately towards other students and staff.
The safety and welfare of our girls is of paramount importance at HAB. All staff members receive extensive training in this and the girls’ curriculum covers a variety of safety and wellbeing topics.
The Academy will work hard to reduce all the kinds of harm that children can suffer, including abuse, bullying, discrimination and avoidable injuries. If you have any concerns at all about the safety or welfare of a child please do not hesitate to contact us.

Teaching and Learning
We want every girl to pursue her ambitions and be successful in modern Britain. HAB welcomes the Government’s recent changes to the national curriculum, with a focus on providing academic challenge for all.
The English Baccalaureate subjects (English, Mathematics, Sciences, History or Geography and a Language) form the core for HAB girls, along with a rich mix of arts and technical subjects. Uniform
The Academy uniform is an important part of our collective identity and sense of community.
Students at Harris Academy Bermondsey are expected to wear the uniform in its entirety to the Academy on all occasions. It is important that students always present themselves as ambassadors of the Academy including when they are in public places or travelling to and from the Academy.
