Year 11 Art Students Launch GCSE Exam Project with Inspiring Tate Britain Visit

Year 11 Art students kick-started their GCSE examination project on Monday 12th January with an inspiring trip to Tate Britain. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to gather primary research, which forms a crucial part of their coursework.
Throughout the day, students carefully observed, sketched and photographed a wide range of artworks from the gallery’s collection, as well as scenes from central London. These first-hand experiences will help inform their ideas, techniques and final outcomes as they develop their exam projects over the coming months.
The students represented the school exceptionally well, showing enthusiasm, creativity and maturity throughout the visit. They engaged thoughtfully with the artwork and made the most of the opportunity to work outside the classroom in such a culturally rich environment.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we look forward to seeing the results of their hard work and dedication reflected in their final pieces — and ultimately being rewarded on results day this summer.
