HAB Wins Sweaty Betty Foundation Design Competition!
Award Presented by Olympic Legend Denise Lewis OBE!
We are thrilled to share that HAB has been crowned the winner of the Sweaty Betty Foundation’s Change Starts in the Changing Room campaign. One of just five schools across England and Scotland chosen to take part, our students wowed the judges at the Olympic Park’s Aquatic Centre with their bold redesign ideas for changing rooms.
The prestigious panel — including Sweaty Betty, Zaha Hadid senior architects, and the Foundation’s patron Judy Murray — praised our students as vibrant, confident, and kind ambassadors for HAB. Their creativity, teamwork, and vision shone throughout the day.
In an unforgettable moment, Olympic heptathlon champion Denise Lewis OBE returned with the Foundation to HAB to officially present the award — along with a £10,000 prize, which will be used to re-imagine our changing rooms.
A special thank you goes to Donna Donnelly, Head of PE, for arranging our involvement; to Afsana Lachaux from the Sweaty Betty Foundation for her support; and to Melissa Mullen, CEO of Sweaty Betty, for joining us today. And of course, our biggest thanks go to our amazing students for representing HAB with such pride.
The campaign, under the hashtag #ListenToHer, will also be taken to Parliament later this year.
A very big shout out to our student photographers, Nicole and Amelia from Year 11 for photographing the event today.
