Year 10 Students Support Historic Women’s Cricket Match at The Oval
Our Year 10 BTEC Sport students were proud to play a role in sporting history this week, as Surrey Women competed in their first-ever County Championship fixture at The Oval.
The students formed a guard of honour to welcome the players onto the pitch, waving them out in front of spectators in a moment that celebrated the growth and empowerment of women in sport. This unique opportunity gave them a first-hand experience of the professional women’s game and the special atmosphere that comes with it.
Following the match build-up, the students enjoyed the family area, where they took part in a variety of fun activities, including face painting and practical games.
The day proved to be both inspiring and memorable, combining the thrill of live sport with the chance to support the continued rise of women’s cricket.
