From Ancient Artifacts to Chinatown Feasts: A Day of Chinese Culture
On Friday 4th July, 40 Mandarin students enjoyed a memorable day exploring Chinese culture. The trip began at the British Museum, where they visited the China gallery, gaining a deeper understanding of China’s fascinating history and heritage.
Next, the group headed to London’s lively Chinatown, where the streets were filled with colourful lanterns and a buzzing atmosphere. The highlight of the day was sampling traditional Chinese dishes, including dumplings, spring rolls, and egg fried rice—each bite offering new and exciting flavours. The students also had fun learning to use chopsticks, adding a hands-on element to the experience.
Reflecting on the day, the students shared their excitement about the trip and their eagerness to do it again.
Nina commented, "My favourite dish was stir-fried egg and tomatoes because it reminds me of my hometown."
It was a fantastic day of exploration, learning, and enjoying new experiences. The combination of museum visits, delicious food, and the vibrant atmosphere of Chinatown left the students with a greater appreciation of Chinese culture. See more photos in the gallery below.
