HAB Dance Company in Action this Month

Cheerleaders 1You can see the magnificent HAB Dance Company in action several times this month (see end of article).

The company, which is made up of girls from years 7-9, trains three times a week with Miss Abraham, who teaches a wide range of techniques and prepare girls for performances and competitions.

Styles include Bollywood, tumbling skills, ballet, contemporary, lyrical jazz and commercial dance.

The company has recently been invited to perform at the Brit School and also the Crossrail Place Roof Garden performance space.

Preparation for life

Dance is an important part of the curriculum at HAB. Throughout the year, each dance lesson includes performance skills, dance history, gymnastics and fitness – all taught in HAB's dance studio with sprung floor and full length mirror walls.

HAB Dance Company gives students a chance to take their love of dance to the next level, with benefits that extend across school life. “Amongst out Year 9 students, who have been in the company for three years, there has been a huge improvement in terms of social skills and general academic results because of the discipline emphasised in each rehearsal,” says Ms Abraham.

Professional training

HAB dance teachers are practitioners in their own right and have over 30 years' professional dance training between them, offering our HAB girls only the best from qualified industry experts.

You can see amazing HAB Dance Company is action at the Summer Fair on Saturday 15 July and also at the school production of Bugsy Malone on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 July (matinee and evening performances), as well as at Sports Day on Thursday 13 July.
