Excitement builds for our production

Ashleen, Year 10, reports on the build-up to our school production of Annie Jr.

Excitement flows around the students of HAB because a new opportunity has revealed itself. Ms Harvey is directing a production of Annie Jr!

Annie is all about a little orphan girl named Annie, she lives in an orphanage due to the fact she was abandoned by her parents. She wishes to meet with them and believes they will somehow come back for her. Spoiler alert, she is wrong.

The students were courageous and showed commitment during the auditions. Many were called but only a few were chosen.

I interviewed a student named Brianna, who has been chosen to take part in the musical.

How do you feel about being chosen?

Brianna: "I feel grateful that I was chosen, and I am really excited about the upcoming rehearsals."

What role did you get?

Brianna: "I have been chosen to act as Grace Farrell who is the kind lady who brings Annie from the orphanage to Mr Warbucks house.”

What do you think you will learn from voluntarily taking part in this musical?

Brianna: "I think I will learn how to work with new people, and I will learn about presence and how to execute it properly.’’

What a wonderful opportunity that us HAB students get to participate in. This opportunity teaches us to strive for what we want, and it gives us strength to face the challenges of real-life circumstances!

This is another great example of one of the numerous enrichment opportunities that HAB organises for its students.

Wishing luck to the students who were chosen to take part in the musical!

Ashleen, Year 10
