Sara wins Ag in Cambridge Chemistry Challenge
One of our Chemistry sixth formers has won a silver medal in the University of Cambridge’s chemistry competition for secondary students.
Following on from our amazing results in the UK Chemistry Olympiad, one of our top students, Sara, took part in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge Lower 6th (C3L6) organised by the University of Cambridge.
Aimed at Year 12 students, the competition stretches and challenge students interested in chemistry, taking them beyond the curriculum and encouraging them to think about science in the way they would at university.
Sara won a Ag Award (silver for those in the know) putting her in the top 20% of pupils entered and the uppermost 4% of chemistry students in the UK. This is a fantastic achievement for Sara who competed with pupils from both the state and independent sector across the UK.
We are incredibly proud of Sara who wants to study Chemistry at University and we are now looking ahead to the UK Chemistry Olympiad in January 2022… no pressure Sara, but I think a HAB Gold might be on the horizon!
