Young Poets show "Courage and Compassion" at Spoken Word Event
Our latest Spoken Word event took place in the library earlier this month, with students from years 7-10 performing a wide range of poetry on topics ranging from knife crime and homophobia to identity, cosmetic surgery and bereavement.
“It was amazing to see students share such personal and emotive work with the audience," said Ms Kulatilleke. "As well as showing technical skill, the poems also revealed a level of empathy and compassion that was truly moving."
Ms Morris said: “I was so proud of the girls. It takes such bravery to produce creative writing and even more courage to share it with the world. Every time these students share their work with the spoken word audience, it feels like a real privilege."
Well done to Zuthika, Tiffany, Isobel, Nuha and Peace. We're #ProudToBeHAB of you all. And thank you to Year 10 Photography Club student Shayma for the photos.
