HAB Becomes Hub for Lead Practitioners
Harris Academy Bermondsey has become the first school in inner London to become a Lead Practitioner Learning Centre. We will now support staff in other schools who want to become Lead Practitioners through the accreditation programme offered by SSAT, the schools, students and teachers’ network.
“Harris Academy Bermondsey is an exciting addition to the Lead Practitioner Learning Centre family," said Andy Williams, SSAT Senior Education Lead. "What is particularly striking is the very broad range of expertise of the Lead Practitioner Learning Centre training team at Harris Academy Bermondsey."
Harris Academy Bermondsey was invited to become a Lead Practitioner Learning Centre because we have developed our own extensive team of Lead Practitioners. We will now become a hub of excellence for aspiring SSAT Lead Practitioners who will make significant contributions to the education profession.
"On visiting the school, you can’t resist being absorbed in the warmth and enthusiasm of its Lead Practioner Learning Centre trainers," said Mr Williams. "It's a testament to the commitment of the Principal, Rebecca Iles-Smith, to ensuring that there is a clear rationale for why teachers engage in evidence-informed practice and that the outcomes of their own research are shared widely."
The SSAT Lead Practitioner Accreditation programme improves the professional skills and expertise of all those involved in educating children and young people.
We are now recruiting ten aspiring Lead Practitioners to join our SSAT accreditation programme starting in September 2019. Find out more about our accreditation training and how to apply.
