Chubb Insurance Helps Girls with Careers Choices
Aliyah, Year 10, on why a trip to Chubb Insurance this week has helped students think about their future careers.
I really enjoyed the trip to Chubb Insurance company, finding it very beneficial to me. Firstly, we participated in a task where, in groups, we had to use logic and reasoning to decide the likeliness and expectancy of risks which certain companies and people could potentially encounter.
The group with the most correct answers won! I personally found the task really fun as some of the scenarios were quite challenging when deciding the risks, so it made me think extra hard than I normally would, expanding my thoughts.
The task made me realise how interesting analysing risks is, and made me want to do further research on jobs in the field of insurance. Later on, we had the chance to speak to Chubb employees and we were each assigned mentors who we got to ask many questions regarding working in insurance and choosing the correct career for ourselves.
I found this very helpful as my mentor specifically gave me advice on gaining as much experience as possible and choosing A Level subjects wisely. The trip was great fun, I was able to go to one of the top insurance companies, bringing me closer to deciding my future career path.
