Transition - Enrichment Programme

Dear HAB Families,

We look forward to welcoming your child to the HAB Transition Enrichment Programme which starts on Wednesday 4th May 2022 and continues over the next three weeks (11th, 18th and 25th May 2022).

Arrival and registration

Registration will be from 3.40pm – 4.00pm. Please enter through the front gate and HAB staff will direct you to the Harris Academy Theatre (HAT) where Ms Rasdell will meet you and answer any questions you might have about the programme.

We will also confirm that we have an emergency contact number for you during registration.

Medical needs

If your child requires an inhaler for their asthma, or if they have a prescribed Epi Pen, they will need to bring these along to the Enrichment event each week in order to participate.

If your child has been prescribed any other medications that they will require during the afternoon, please bring these along and speak with Ms Rasdell during registration.

Finally, if your child has any access needs not indicated during your online registration, please do confirm with Ms Rasdell the ways in which HAB staff can support your child to participate fully in the Enrichment programme.

If you are collecting your child from HAB, we ask that you arrive between 4.45pm – 5.00pm and collect them from the HAT.

If you have given consent for your child to be dismissed from the academy to make their own way home, this will happen promptly at 5.00pm.

And finally…

Transitioning to secondary school can be both daunting and exciting for year 6 students. We hope that the HAB Transition Enrichment Programme helps pave the way for your child by providing an opportunity for them to meet new friends, and to get to know their HAB teachers ahead of September.

Kind regards,

Jessica Rasdell

Assistant Principal for Personal Development Strategy
