Bringing the World Together: Culture Day at HAB
On April 23rd, 2026, our school came alive with colour, music, and energy as students and staff celebrated a truly fantastic Culture Day, which so happened to take place on St. Georges Day. The event highlighted the rich diversity within our community and gave everyone the chance to share, learn, and connect through culture.

One of the highlights of the day was the cultural float design competition. Students worked creatively to design carnival-style floats that represented different cultures from around the world. The effort and imagination on display were incredible, with each entry showcasing unique traditions, symbols, and stories.
Another popular activity was the “hot seat” sessions, where students interviewed one another about their cultural backgrounds. These conversations gave everyone the opportunity to speak proudly about their heritage, traditions, and what matters most to them. It was a powerful way to build understanding and appreciation across the school.

Throughout the day, the main stage hosted a vibrant showcase of talent. The performances ranged from spoken word poetry to energetic dance routines and impressive solo singing acts. Each performance reflected a different cultural influence, creating a rich and varied program that kept the audience engaged and inspired. The show was brought together brilliantly by two outstanding student hosts, Susan and Angelina's enthusiasm and humour kept the energy high from start to finish.

Food also played a big part in the celebrations. Students set up stalls offering dishes from their cultures, giving everyone the chance to taste something new. From sweet treats to savoury specialities, the variety of food was a true reflection of the diversity within the school.

With music, laughter, and a strong sense of community throughout the day, Culture Day was a huge success. It was a reminder of how much we can learn from one another and how celebrating our differences makes our school stronger.
