A Magical Afternoon at the Literary Tea Party
On Monday 23rd March, the Library opened its doors for our annual Literary Tea Party, a much loved celebration recognising students who have shown exceptional dedication to reading, writing, vocabulary development and speaking and listening. The event is one of the highlights of the library calendar, bringing together creativity, imagination and a well deserved sense of achievement.

This year’s Tea Party was filled with activities inspired by students’ favourite stories. Guests mixed snake venom and fire water to create potions worthy of any fantasy novel, and they decorated biscuits with icing and sweets inspired by the whimsical world of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Students also challenged themselves with an escape room, testing their teamwork and problem solving skills, and created beautiful bracelets inspired by the books they love.

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was joyful and full of energy. Many students described the event as something they would remember and cherish as part of their time at school. They spoke about how enjoyable it was to take part in activities that rewarded their hard work and enthusiasm for literacy. Several students shared how much they appreciate the wide variety of books available in the Library and the cosy, welcoming environment that makes it such a special place to read and learn.
One student reflected on how motivating it felt to be recognised for her efforts, realising that the more she puts in, the more opportunities she will have to earn awards. Another student said she loved reading and felt proud to be rewarded for something she genuinely enjoys. Others spoke about the friendships they made during the event and how excited they are to take part again next year.
The Literary Tea Party continues to be a wonderful celebration of creativity and the joy of reading. We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and look forward to seeing even more young readers and writers shine in the year ahead.
A big shout out to Year 10 Photography club student, Melis for photographing the event.
