Under 13s in EFL Girls Football Tournament
The U13 football team competed in the area finals of the English Football League girls U13's football tournament today. There was a real togetherness displayed by all the players, both on and of the pitch.
The team drew all three group games 0-0, 1-1 and 0-0. We finished 3rd place in our group. We then went on to play forth place in group B for the shield, unfortunately this game also ended 0-0. The game was decided on penalties and we lost.
Andrew Hatcher, Millwall Girls Football Development Officer, said: “I had the pleasure of spending a Friday morning with the U13 girls football team that have been competing in EFL Area Finals. From the get go, I was really impressed by the girls' natural ability on the ball, as they dominated the play in all of their games. I would also like to compliment the girls in the way they conducted themselves. The games were really competitive, and I was really happy to see how the team stuck together and showed real character in working together. Keishana Kelly’s positivity and hard work with the group needs to be commended, and I can only look forward to seeing how they develop further under her strong guidance”.
Although we came back empty handed there was lots of positives to draw from this tournament. The girls are working more as a team and they are developing their communication and support play skills. Well done to the whole team, we're very #ProudToBeHAB of you all!
