Let's Connect Mental Health Conference - Report

Alayna and Noor, Year 10, report on their attendance at the Let's Connect mental health conference.

On Wednesday 8th of February, we visited Kings' College School Wimbledon to attend the Let’s Connect mental health conference, which was an opportunity to raise awareness of and explore mental health concerns facing young people today.

Here we did multiple activities, engaging with strategies to develop ways of embracing mental health improvement. Like understanding the things that we can let go of because they are not in our control.

These innovative strategies will hopefully assist more students in learning and benefit their well-being. Students from five schools interacted and worked together, which helped build confidence and created a connected community.

Initially we were guided through a workbook with various practical tools for encouraging more positive mental health. Then we went on to build a comprehensive action plan which we will take back to HAB on what we wanted to implement going forward.

We hope to use the knowledge from the mental health conference and apply it to our school experience, which can then in turn benefit the wider HAB community
