Computer Science Students Program Selfie Box
Year 10 computer science students went to the Science Museum today to learn about inspirational women who work in technology and take part in activities that will encourage them to work in the sector.
The girls also got to make and program their own selfie boxes in less than one hour, using Raspberry Pi single-board computers.
"They all got a lot from the experience and some of the girls have started to think a bit more about how they might enjoy a career in technology," said Ms Newell.
The event was organised with PwC. Raspberry Pi single-board computers were developed in the United Kingdom to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools and in developing countries.
HAB is proud to now offer computer science at GCSE.
