Harris Academy Bermondsey is celebrating its best ever GCSE results.
63% of students at the all-girls school achieved A*-C grades in English and Maths, up from 59% last summer.
Sixty five girls, or 40% of the year group, achieved the demanding Ebacc. This significantly outperforms the national average, which tends to be around 23%, and is also significantly higher than last year’s result of 27%.
Nine girls gained all A* and A grades in academically rigorous GCSE subjects, with Danqing Hang awarded 9 A* grades.

This year, the government has introduced a new performance measure called Progress 8 which indicates the progress made by students in secondary school across eight key subjects. Based on 2015 national averages, Harris Academy Bermondsey’s score is likely to be 0.53. This is higher than the national average which is always set at 0.
