Spoken Word Workhop with Kat Francois
Spoken word artist Kat Francois spent a morning with our students recently running a spoken word workshop, with a focus on Black history and cultural diversity.
Kat read some of her inspirational poems including Hey Black Child and Still I Rise, before our girls worked in teams to create their own poems, which they then had the chance to perform.
Victoria said: "I had great fun. Kat was so fun and confident! I was really impressed by the way she used her voice to be engaging and entertaining."
Kandia said: "I really enjoyed the workshop. I loved the inspirational poems she shared with us. It was great to write in teams and share our work. I can’t wait to write more."
For our girls it was a chance to focus on their literacy and teamwork skills as well as developing their confidence as performers. Thanks to Kat for such an amazing workshop.
