"I am a Woman and I am Proud" - HAB FemSoc at City Hall
HAB Feminist Society was invited to City Hall yesterday to make a presentation to launch the Same But Different photography exhibition, celebrating the diversity of all women working in the UK.
Sadiq Kahn, Mayor of London, welcomed our girls and praised their speech for its inspirational messages such as “All the women I've met have faced struggles but came out stronger” and "I am a woman and I am proud".

"Their presentation reflected what Gender Equality means to them and the importance of intersectionality in the 21st century," said Ms Harris, who co-ordinates HABFemSoc.
"The students all commented on what a fantastic experience it was, and how proud they felt to be representing not only HAB but young feminists. After their presentation, the girls networked like pros and they felt like the celebrities of the evening. Even Sadiq Khan wanted a ‘selfie’ with them!"
HABFemSoc has gone from strength to strength this year. This event was preceded by a presentation at the Royal Geological Society on their Trowelblazing and Raising Horizons Project, and a talk on gender Equality in Education at the Department for Education last October.
