Sabria and Niambi to Give Gallery Tours

HABTeenTours 034Sabria and Niambi from Year 10 have joined Teen Tours, a training opportunity to help young people deepen their engagement with the exhibition Foam Talent at Beaconsfield Gallery Vauxhall. 

Foam Talent is an annual photography exhibition that brings together innovative image-makers under the age of 35. The Teen Tours mentoring leads to participants developing the confidence and knowledge they need to lead public tours of the popular exhibition. 

HABTeenTours 004At the end of the five-week course, participants will have researched and prepared a talk, focusing on particular aspects of the exhibition that appeal to them or hold personal significance. As well as developing their research and presentation skills, the girls will gain a greater insight into photography and its place within contemporary art.

Teen Tours is delivered by Beaconsfield in partnership with the Dutch Museum of Photography and in association with The Photographers Gallery London. The mentoring will be led by Shan Rixon, a coach who specialises in the area of art participation.

Sabria and Niambi are both members of the HAB photography club.
