Year 6 Transition Challenges - Keep Sending Us Your Pictures!
We’ve been very impressed with how the new Year 6 HAB girls who are joining us in September have been responding to the challenges we set them in our weekly Transition Passports.
Food Tech challenge
We asked girls to research how to use a knife safely and then chop ingredients to make a dish for their family. Georgina N from Keyworth Primary School made some delicious tomato soup!
Modern Foreign Languages challenge
Georgina also took part in our Modern Foreign Languages challenge by introducing herself in French.
Meanwhile, Isabella CA from Lucas Vale Primary School introduced herself in Spanish.
Hello my name is Isabella
Hola mi nombre es Isabella
My primary school is Lucas Vale
Mi escuela primaria es Lucas Vale
I like athletics
Me gusta el atletismo
I don't like spelling and mashed potato
No me gusta la ortografía y el puré de papas
I am hard-working, fun, determined, competitive and sporty
Soy trabajadora, divertida, decidida, competitiva y deportiva
My journey to school
Isabella CA also sent us pictures as she practised getting from home to HAB.
“This is me preparing myself for my journey to HAB”
"I take the DLR to Canary Wharf where I then get on the Jubilee Line Tube to Canada Water."
"Here I am, I have arrived at Harris Academy Bermondsey."
Art challenge
We asked girls to recreate a famous artwork using themselves and their surroundings, and find out interesting facts about the artist, the art movement they are part of, and their work. We were particularly impressed by Isabella A from Ilderton Primary School who recreated 'Daughter of Soviet Kirghizia' by Semyon Chuikov.
Great work girls, keep doing your Transition Passports and sharing them with us!
