Clubs and Enrichment Activities Expand
We are expanding our virtual enrichment programme this term to give girls a greater range of clubs and activities to try.
“Because opportunities outside of school are very limited at present, we feel our clubs and extra-curricular activities are more important than ever,” says Mr Creasey. “We are placing a high value on enrichment activities throughout the school because we want to equip girls with the skills they will need in the future.” Enrichment activities available this term will include:
- Music Production Club
- Rainbow Champions
- Cheerleading
- Model United Nations
- Calligraphy Club
- Culture Club
- and Maths Club.
Polina, Year 7, holds up a bird feeder she made last term from a toilet roll tube and peanut butter, as part of our enrichment programme.
New enrichment diploma
Key Stage 3 students are also working towards the HAB VAP (Volunteering, Accreditation, Practical) Diploma by completing a series of challenges such as taking part in a science competition, or learning to say hello in ten languages. They must also volunteer and gain accreditation in first aid, cycling training or gardening, for example.
“We believe the VAP Diploma can broaden and deepen the curriculum by giving girls the opportunity to try new things and give something back,” said Ms Aju. “The programme is designed to help girls develop greater problem-solving skills, creativity, critical thinking, people management and much more. There will be something for everyone.”
