Try Our STEM Clubs - By Adikat, Year 8
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths but why do we need STEM clubs?
We use STEM all the time in our daily lives. When we do small things like work out how much change we will be given, we’re using STEM skills to problem-solve.
STEM education does not have to be coding an app like so many people think. STEM is all about thinking outside the box and outside of the curriculum. Some people believe that STEM is just for the “smart” people but STEM is not about being intelligence, it’s about finding new ways of thinking!
STEM is for everyone even if you are not good at one or all the aspects: Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Going to a STEM club at HAB is all about trying something new and learning how to do something you did not know how to do before. At HAB there are many opportunities to help you succeed in the world of STEM.
Here is a list of enrichment activities you can try:
- Maths Club, Year 10, Tuesday 16:00–16:45, T4C Ms Philip
- Science Club, Year 7 and 8, Tuesday 15:00–16:00, T1A Dr Breen
- Mathematical Proof, Year 9-13, Wednesday 16:00–17:00, T4C Ms Hodgson
- HAB Robotics, Year 7-11, Friday 15:00–17:00, T5A Ms Newell
