Calligraphy Club is "a Beautiful Experience"
Our new HAB Calligraphy Club is giving girls another way to use language and culture. "Calligraphy is very relaxing and it is what I do whenever I feel my mind is cluttered," says Ms Kulatilleke, who recently started our Calligraphy Club.
"I’ve always loved reading, so calligraphy became a way of sharing poems and prose I enjoy with everyone, in a creative way," she adds. "That is what I hope Calligraphy Club becomes for our girls; a place where they can have fun, learn about different books and cultures while exploring a variety of calligraphy styles."
What students say...
“For me, coming to Calligraphy Club is a beautiful experience because the teacher teaches you step-by-step and when you learn it transforms into a way of expressing yourself by art.” Emma, Year 8
“I enjoy calligraphy sooooo much. The people are so friendly and I feel safe and happy. The students and teacher (Miss K) are very welcoming.” Julie, Year 7
“This is my first day doing calligraphy and I’ve had so much fun. I can tell I am going to carry on with calligraphy because even though I didn’t join when it started, I have learned a decent amount of Calligraphy.” Holly-Jade, Year 7
