Sixth Form Girls Win Oxbridge Interviews
We are #ProudToBeHAB that four of our Sixth Form girls have been invited for interviews at Oxford and Cambridge universities.
Malvina, Fatjona, Elizabeth and Korede (all Year 13) are part of Harris Experience Advanced, a Harris Federation programme to support more able students.
Korede, has an interview to study Philosophy at Jesus College, Cambridge. Malvina would like to study History and Politics at Clare College, Cambridge. Fatjona hopes to study English language and Literature at Worcester College, Oxford, while Elizabeth has an interview at Brasenose College, Oxford, to reading English and French. As part of the Harris Experience Advance programme all three have been attending preparation sessions throughout the year.
"This has taught me to work hard and fight for my dreams," says Korede. "Philosophy forces me to challenge my perception of things."
Malvina wants to study History because it "allows us to challenge the structures and place power in the hands of ordinary people."
Malvina spent a few days at Clare College last year for a summer school designed to give students a chance to experience life at Cambridge. Malvina decided to apply to Clare because of its diverse student body and because it breaks with the convention of what you might expect a college at Cambridge to be like.
