Dear Parents and Carers

I felt enormously privileged to take up the Role of Chair of Governors for Harris Academy Bermondsey in 2011, having been on the governing body for three years.

The governing body works together to oversee the development of a school and has the following key roles and responsibilities:

· ensure the provision of quality education
· manage finance and property
· employ staff
· fulfil the role of a critical friend
· recognise and celebrate achievement
· provide support and encouragement
