Physical Education
Our opportunities and our identity as sporting females has never been better. Our time is now. We have the platform, the knowledge and the confidence to develop and mature our students’ identities in the modern, global arena to empower our students to become risk-taking, empathic and positive learners.
Physical Education is about so much more than developing physical techniques and competences in sport. At HAB, in every lesson, we develop life and employability competences, promote the expertise for lifelong enjoyment and embed an understanding of health, fitness and wellbeing.
We systematically sequence the curriculum to ensure students engage meaningfully with the historic and cultural contexts of sports. Our relentless drive for equality and status of the female athlete and sportswomen is presented in our threshold concepts. Students will know the impact of iconic female athletes and how sport is a dominion for change, inspiration and success. The cumulative sequencing of the curriculum that embeds the environmental, biomechanical and psychological understanding, engages student fascination whilst in addition complements their learning throughout their school life.
